This image is purposely small, please purchase Khawars CCIE Security Workbook.

Please review my previous post on my lab setup to fully understand how everything physically fits together http://cciesecurity.wordpress.com/2006/12/21/my-home-lab/

This design was fairly easy to reproduce with dynamips. Like 1.1 it consists of routers ans firewalls.

Tue, 28 Oct 2008 15:43:55 +0000
Given the following configuration on a 3560 switch:

Narbik’s bootcamp starts today….I’m excited to be focused on lab prep for a whole week straight!  I’ll be writing more about the class as the week progresses.  (if my brain is functioning by the end of the day)
Now, time to see how little I really know…

Mon, 06 Oct 2008 14:43:36 +0000
Is it really almost the second week of October? Man I have five months for a lab attempt before my written expires! I must admit after reading about CCIE Pursuit’s lab attempt my morale went straight into the dumper. Anyone that reads his blog knows where he stands on the material. If he didn’t make ...]

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thu, 04 Sep 2008 15:25:43 +0000
I was sat at my study desk last night doing my usual thing….. “Oh, I better backup my docs, I’ve not done it in a while” (that’s in my head by the way and not me talking to myself!) –> USB HDD connected –> ‘Start’ – ‘Run’ – ‘SyncToy’ –>

‘Run’ –> “right, back to work” ...]

Change Control - FAIL

Thu, 02 Oct 2008 23:24:36 +0000
Failure. Every network engineer will have a project or change control that, for whatever reason, fails.  Some failures are spectacular - you turn up a new link, bring up the routing protocol, and then the core crashes so hard, the lights dim in the data center.  The industry term for these sorts of failures is ...]

I am interested in doing the CCIE program. I have completed my Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science. I have no other certifications. I would like to know the practical realities in doing this certification without experience.
The answer is that anyone who studies hard enough ...]
